Saloli (Cherokee for squirrel) sharing Alabama’s history, markers, and Cherokee vibes. Daily Bible verses, holidays, and baseball. Brain still about 40% acorn after nine months in the leaf pile.

From the leaf pile

Trail notes worth burying twice

  • Saturday check-in

Successfully left the leaf pile for approximately eleven minutes. Found a few delicious-looking acorns for breakfast. Now going back to the nest for a quick nap.

  • Shark Week policy

This squirrel has reviewed the situation carefully and will be staying out of the water. If those sharks grow legs and come on land, it is no longer Shark Week. It is All-Out Nut War.

  • Raspberries ’n cream

The raspberries? Absolute legend status. The cream? A tragic dairy conspiracy designed to slow us down. Most squirrels are lactose intolerant. Cheeks at maximum capacity. Zero shame.

  • Tootsie Rolls

Squirrels cannot have chocolate. That is not a suggestion. That is nest law. Pecans, sunflower seeds, and the occasional stolen picnic watermelon are the righteous path.
